AMDC Retrofit of Exterior Facade and 4 Selected Interior Levels of Swinburne's Advanced Manufacturing Design Centre
The context of the AMDC experienced segregation amongst experience of multidisciplinary design from PHD, professionals and to undergraduate students. It is lacking on the optimisation of key views of its surrounding context.
ΔMDC aims to relieve the separation amongst learning levels by opening up the interior for circulation amongst several design disciplines and levels of experience. This was done simultaneously with optimising key views for the external prism and double-skinned facade. The overall design breathes life into the building, encouraging collaboration and activation of programs and access points once described as confusing.
